My thoughts on Mother's Day...

Every year, I get excited about Mother's Day. I always have these grand illusions of laying in bed all day and being waited on hand and foot. The reality, it's just another day. Expectations inevitably lead to disappointment as I put yet another load of laundry in the dryer and wash one more dish. My wonderful husband always tries his best to give me the day that I so yearn for but it's Mother's Day and no matter what, we can never just stop being mothers...even for one day. It's alright, my family is my life everyday and that is just the way it is. There will come a day when I look back and wonder where these years went. My gift is my beautiful family so, I need to learn to be more grateful and stop expecting so's just another day. :-)

  1. The beauty of when the kids get older is that they don't "need" you to cook or clean for them. That is when it is awesome to have a husband that dotes on you! I do miss when the kids were little...but I enjoy the new found freedom of my adulthood!
    Blessings and happy Mother's day!!!

    1. I absolutely agree with you! I have a 17 year old and a 3 year old so, I know both ends of this spectrum lol. It turned out to be a nice day. Hope yours was as well. :)
